BRONZE 3-D PORTRAIT

A bronze portrait is sometimes the appropriate way to mark an occasion or to be able to remember the subject for ever. It is an investment that will survive you.

My skill lies in creating, in clay, a likeness that epitomises the energy of the model.

I meet the subject, take about 100 photos from all angles and then work in clay over several weeks to sculpt a likeness. I check with the client at regular intervals that they are pleased with how the work is developing.

When we are happy to move on to the next stage I take the sculpture to a local, established foundry to be cast in bronze. Casting complete, the client would be asked to choose a base for the sculpture and be invited to attend the patination of the bronze so they can make the decision about final colour.

Each commission has its own identity so do make contact to discuss what you have in mind. A deposit of 10% of my charge would payable when I photographed the subject and the balance for my work payable on delivery of the finished piece. The foundry’s component of the work may be billed separately.

A bronze head would be priced from £3,300 (this includes my work at £800 and the foundry charge upwards of £2,500)

The price for my work and the foundry charge would be quoted and confirmed by email before the initial photo stage.

I may be able to cast a 3-D portrait in bronze resin (rather than bronze) myself but that would depend on the size and shape of the clay original. Please contact to discuss.

cast marble or cast bronze Relief Portrait

I can create a relief sculpture from a close-up, camera-taken, 1-2 MB digital photo. The photo must really capture a moment of connection with the subject.

Having checked with the client that they are happy with my clay original sculpture, I make a mould. I can then cast the image in bronze or marble.

This is the mounted on an azure or blue/black wooden board and will have fittings for wall hanging.

The cost is £300 for a single head and £75 for each additional head.

These cast relief sculptures could be the ideal present for several members of a family. After the first cast, subsequent casts cost £125 each.
